TEMPORARILY CLOSED

The Goleta Sanitary District is embarking on a large construction project that will require the temporary shut down of our bird-watching capability. We apologize for any inconvenience and will re-open for bird-watching as soon as it is safe to do so. To learn more about our exciting project, go to our BESP page.

TEMPORARILY CLOSEDThe Goleta Sanitary District attracts many birds throughout the year. Most are attracted by the large lagoons which are part of the treatment process. The public is welcome to visit but please note - there are a limited number of people that can be in the designated area at any one time. The hours are listed below. Please come to the Administration building to check in, complete a waiver, and get a pass before going bird-watching- Even if you had a pass previously you will need to stop in and get a new one.  A copy of the bird-watching policy, map of the restricted viewing area, and a copy of the waiver are linked below.
